Stainless Steel Pipes Sizes International Standard System

1. Chinese National Standard (GB): GB/T 14976-2012 “Seamless Stainless Steel Pipe for Fluid Transportation” is the core, which specifies the outer diameter range (6mm-630mm) and wall thickness (0.5mm-30mm)
2. American Standard (ASTM): ASTM A312 and ASTM A269 are the representatives, with outer diameter (6mm-530mm) and wall thickness (0.5mm-40mm).
3. Japanese Standard (JIS): JIS G3459 is the main one
European Standard: (EN/DIN): EN 10216 and DIN 17456 are the core.

FAQs

1. How to interpret the specification code of stainless steel pipe?
For example, “Φ89×2” means a steel pipe with an outer diameter of 89mm and a wall thickness of 2mm, and “Φ” represents the outer diameter symbol 3. In the international standard, NPS 1 corresponds to an outer diameter of 25.4mm

2. What is the difference between the pipe diameter marking methods such as DN and De?
DN is the nominal diameter (such as DN20), and De refers to the outer diameter (such as De25×2.5mm). In actual construction, De is often used for plastic pipes, and DN is often used for metal pipes.
