MS means Mild Steel, with a carbon content of ≤0.25%. The core advantages of low carbon are:
- Cost advantage: The raw material price is cheap, 30%-50% of stainless steel, suitable for large-scale projects;
- Easy to process: It can be customized by laser cutting/welding, and the tolerance can be controlled within ±0.1mm;
- High strength: It must pass the tensile test (≥300MPa) of GB/T 700-2006 standard and can withstand pressure of more than 16bar
- Corrosion resistance: It can effectively resist corrosive media through surface treatment such as galvanizing, painting or hot-dip galvanizing.
Material specifications
Low carbon steel grade: Select low carbon steel that meets national standards (such as GB/T 700-2006) or international standards (such as ASTM A36) to ensure strength and plasticity;
Chemical composition: Carbon content ≤ 0.25%, sulfur, phosphorus and other impurities ≤ 0.04% (to avoid cracks during welding).
Size and Standard
Size standard: follow ANSI (American standard), DN (nominal diameter, such as DN100 = 4 inches) or JIS (Japanese standard);
Pressure level: select according to the working pressure of the pipeline system, such as PN16 (1.6MPa, suitable for low pressure), PN25 (2.5MPa, suitable for medium pressure).
