Schedule 40 Pipe Pressure Rating

Schedule 40 is a very common specification for the wall thickness grade. Its pressure bearing capacity needs to be comprehensively evaluated in combination with the material, temperature and pipe diameter.

Schedule 40 Pipe Pressure Rating Calculation Formula

The larger the pipe diameter, the weaker the pressure bearing grade of the pipeline. The calculation formula is:
Sch = (P / S) × 1000. The pressure value of Sch 40 will change accordingly with different materials and different temperatures used.

P: Pipeline working pressure
S: Material can withstand pressure
