What Is Lsaw Pipe?
LSAW stands for Longitudinally Submerged Arc-Welded, also known as SAWL pipe. It uses steel plates as raw materials, is bent through JCOE or UOE molds, and then welded longitudinally by submerged arc welding.
Characteristics of LSAW
If you are sure whether it is LSAW, you can judge it based on the following points
- The weld is a longitudinal straight weld parallel to the length of the pipe
- The outer diameter of LSAW pipes is almost always above 219.1mm (8 inches)
- The raw material of LSAW pipe is high-quality steel plate, which is resistant to high temperature and high pressure and has strong pressure bearing capacity.
Lsaw Pipe Two Molding Processes
JCOE molding process
J ( Jumping pressing)This process is to press the edge of the steel plate into a “J” shape
C(forming)Through multiple forming pressures, the steel plate is made into a “C” shape
O(forming)Close the “C” shaped steel plate from the previous step into an O shape
E(Expanding)Expanding the welded steel plate is the most important step, which can eliminate residual stress and make the pipe shape more regular and the size more accurate.
UOE molding process
U (forming)Extruding the steel plate into a “U” shape
O(forming)Close the “U” shaped steel plate from the previous step into an O shape
E(Expanding)Mechanical expansion
