What Is ASTM A106 Pipe?
ASTM A106/A106M covers seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service. According to ASTM, its standard size range extends from NPS 1/8 to NPS 48. Available material grades include A, B and C.

Dual certification means the manufacturing process, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and inspections comply with both standards. The Mill Test Certificate must identify both specifications and the applicable API 5L PSL.
Buyers should also verify the manufacturer, heat number, pipe size, wall thickness, test results, and product marking. The information marked on the pipe must match the MTC.
Adding a second specification to the stencil, invoice, or revised certificate does not create valid dual certification without supporting production and inspection records.
